Do you travel from afar?
The easiest way to reach our hotel is to take advantage of the excellent flight connections. Kuopio Airport is only about a half-hour drive from us. There are approximately 5 flights per day from Helsinki to Kuopio, which means just one short layover for most European cities. So, when booking your flight ticket, it’s advisable to select Kuopio (KPO) as your destination. Helsinki-Vantaa Airport offers great flight transfer facilities, and the transfer usually happens very quickly.
From the airport, the easiest way to reach us is by our private shuttle, which costs €190 for a round trip.
If you want to experience more of Finland, you can take a train from Helsinki Airport towards us. Choose Siilinjärvi as the destination station, and we will pick you up from there. When departing from the airport, you’ll need to change trains once at a place called Tikkurila, which is only two stations away from the airport. Trains in Finland are operated by VR (vr.fi).
By chairlift.
In summer, the chairlift provides easy access from the village to the summit, arriving right next to the hotel. The lift can be used in both directions, making it simple to travel between the village and the summit.
During the winter when the ski resort is open, you can always reach us! First, take the main lifts to the top of Tahkovuori and then head north along the Panorama route. Our hotel is located along the route. The return trip to the village via the slopes can be done either via Turistinkuja or by going through the Western slopes. You can access the front slopes directly from the hotel.
By stairs.
The longest stairs in Finland leading to the top of Tahko start from Tirol’s corner and end at the top of the front slopes. From there, it’s about a 400-meter walk along a gravel road to the hotel. When you reach the top of the stairs, turn right. Following the signs you will find the hotel. Walking at a leisurely pace, it takes about 45 minutes to walk from the village to the top of the stairs.
By car.
From Tahko village to Panorama, it’s about 10 kilometers along the road. If you’re coming from Kuopio, drive past the Tahko intersection towards Varpaisjärvi. After about five kilometers, there will be signs on the side of the road directing you to turn right towards Panorama Resort on Tahkonmäentie. Follow this road for about 4 kilometers until you see the Western slopes on your right. Immediately after the junction for the Western slopes, turn right towards the top of Tahkovuori. Cars are parked at the top of the hill in a large parking area. From there, it’s about a two-hundred-meter walk to the hotel.
By electric car
The electric car charging stations located in the Panorama parking lot are freely available for use. Some charging points are reserved for hotel guests. Our charging stations are 22 kW power stations, and they can be accessed using the Plugit App.

By snowcat
The cabin transport to the top is available during snowy times. In the early season, you can hop into the snowcat cabin from the slope area next to Tirol, and depending on the ice conditions, you can also join from Piazza’s corner!
The Havu Kitchen & Bar snowcat dinner experience combines the snowcat ride with the Havu Signature dinner.
You can book the Snowcat Dinner directly through our reservation system under the Dinner product on the days when the snowcat transports guests to the summit. The times shown correspond to the snowcat departure time from the base station.
It is also possible to take the snowcat ride without dinner by reserving a seat directly through the hotel reception.
Snowcat rides are available on selected days starting from 17:00.
