At our location amidst the beauty of Savo area, surrounded by some of Finland’s vastest lakes and the tranquil silence of forest landscapes, experiences come to life. You can make reservations directly with our hotel. Prices always include transportation to the starting points of activities. We equip all our guests at the activity starting point or slightly before.

Husky safaris
Our husky farm is the home for beautiful huskies. Experience the exhilaration of spirited sled dogs, immerse yourself in the nostalgic ambiance of days gone by, and revel in the enchanting allure of Lapland. Encounter authentic Siberian Huskies, savor the surroundings, and be exhilarated by the exhilarating speed of the sled!
Daily departures during winter at 10:00, 10:30, and 13:00. An evening departure is also available at 18:00. There is no minimum participant requirement. The package includes a 5 km sleigh ride, coffee, sausages, sweet pastry, and transportation.

Snowmobile safaris
This snowmobile safari covers an easy and beautiful route around nearby forest trails and on the frozen lake. No previous experience is needed. Evening departure will be a special experience also!
You can choose between the following tours:
- 2 hours 129 €/89 € driver / back-seater
- 3 hours 165 €/120 € driver / back-seater
We always provide you with overalls, helmets, gloves, shoes and other warm clothes.
Icelandic horse safari
Our horse farm is a countryside stable specializing in Icelandic horses, located in about 15 mins of drive from us. We offer year-round trail rides with wonderful Icelandic horses suitable for riders of all levels. Additionally, we organize field lessons, lead horseback riding, themed rides, and nature & “snout therapy”.
There are two tours we consider as the best for people visiting Tahko.
- Duration of ride 1 hour (it takes at least 1,5 hours to complete all the tasks involved ) – 105 € / person, when at least two are joining
- Duration of ride 1,5 hours (it takes at least 2 hours to complete all the tasks involved ) – 120 € / person, when at least two are joining
Reindeer safaris
Reindeer are the most easygoing companions in this region. They savor life in the shelter of the forest and roam through the snowy woods of winter.
We arrange tours primarily during daylight hours (approximately 10 AM – 3 PM). The options are as follows:
- Sleigh ride for 10-15 minutes on the ice. Price: € 75/adult
- Extended sleigh ride for 20-35 minutes on the ice. Price: € 90/adult.
- Forest trail ride lasting approximately 30-60 minutes with varied terrain. The outbound journey includes more uphill sections, and on the return, depending on the weather conditions, there may be exhilarating downhill stretches. Price: €105/adult.
Reindeer set their own pace, so ride durations are approximate, and the weather conditions affect the speed.
Ski schools and mountain activities
We are truly located in the middle of slopes and ski resort. You can prebook all your gears and they are waiting for you at the time of arrival. You can have ski passes from the hotel and even the ski school can start directly from the hotel main door.
Private lessons:
- 50 mins – 60 €
- 100 mins – 110 €
Ski schools include ski passes for the time of lesson, but all gears need to be booked separately.
