Winter at the Summit

At the top of Tahko Mountain, surrounded by snow-covered forests, winter opens the door to experiences that awaken every sense.

Here, you can shape the season your own way: carve down the slopes at first light, race across frozen landscapes on a snowmobile, join a serene yoga session with views, wander through the quiet forest on snowshoes, or let a husky team guide you along snowy trails.

Though we are high above it all, everything is still within easy reach. From the summit, you can plan your entire winter escape seamlessly – from skiing to safaris to those quiet moments when nature offers you space to breathe.

Ski schools and mountain activities

We are truly located in the middle of slopes and ski resort. You can prebook all your gears and they are waiting for you at the time of arrival. You can have ski passes from the hotel and even the ski school can start directly from the hotel main door.

Snowmobile safaris

This snowmobile safari covers an easy and beautiful route around nearby forest trails and on the frozen lake. No previous experience is needed. Evening departure will be a special experience also!

We always provide you with overalls, helmets, gloves, shoes and other warm clothes.

Husky safaris

Our husky farm is the home for beautiful huskies. Experience the exhilaration of spirited sled dogs, immerse yourself in the nostalgic ambiance of days gone by, and revel in the enchanting allure of Lapland. Encounter authentic Siberian Huskies, savor the surroundings, and be exhilarated by the exhilarating speed of the sled!

Reindeer safaris

Reindeer are the most easygoing companions in this region. They savor life in the shelter of the forest and roam through the snowy woods of winter. We arrange tours primarily during daylight hours (approximately 10 AM – 3 PM). Reindeer set their own pace, so ride durations are approximate, and the weather conditions affect the speed.

Cycling

Cycling is one of the most popular activities in Tahko. The mountain biking trails wind through varied terrain and lead you to breathtaking scenery, both in summer and winter. In Tahko, you can choose the cycling style that suits you best.

For thrill-seekers and curious beginners alike, lift-assisted downhill biking in summer offers an exciting way to ride. The Bike Park features nine marked downhill trails: two black, two red, two blue, and three green. In addition, gravel bikers will find stunning forest roads and scenic Savonian landscapes to explore.

We can arrange your bikes in advance – during the winter season, rentals are available in the Tahko village.

Nature Experiences

Nature begins right at your doorstep. From our Scenic Suites, guests can step straight into the heart of Tahkovuori’s unique wilderness – rugged cliffs, stunning views, moss-covered forests, and peaceful campfire spots. The area features five different circular trails, suitable for both leisurely walks and longer hikes, in every season.

Along the way, you’ll discover rocky gorges, an old quartzite mine, a clear quarry pond, a scenic lookout tower, and several fire pits. Our reception team is happy to help you choose the perfect route

Tahko Zipline

Experience Finland’s longest zipline – one-kilometer ride from the top of the mountain, soaring over the lake and into the heart of the village. Tahko Zipline carries you high above Lake Syväri, and with two parallel cables, you can fly solo or side by side with a friend.

Below you, the lake sparkles, and all around you, the breathtaking landscapes of Savo unfold. This activity is packed with joy, adrenaline, and excitement!

Golf

Tahko offers the very best for a golfer’s summer holiday. From the top of Tahkovuori, you can admire the course below and plan your perfect sun-filled day. You can choose daily between two courses – the Old Course or the Lake & Forest Course.

Set along the shimmering lake, these award-winning courses are recognized among the finest in Finland. And with us, you can combine your visit with the most iconic Finnish experiences – sauna, bathing, and summer dining.

Disc Golf

The 18-hole course at Tahkovuori DiscGolfPark winds through diverse terrain, where elevation changes both challenge and reward your game. Each hole draws you deeper into the landscape’s story—sometimes sheltered by forest, sometimes facing wide, open horizons.

This course not only puts your skills to the test, but also invites you to move in harmony with nature and experience the Savonian summer with your whole body. Between throws, you can take a break at one of the slope-side restaurants near the summit of Tahko.
